ELECTRIC MOTORS AND GENERATORS FOR USE IN HAZARDOUS - LOCATIONS REPAIRED BY QUALIFIED FACILITIES

COVERAGE:
Evaluation and assessment of facilities for the repair of CSA Certified motors and
generators intended for use in hazardous locations. The repair facility must demonstrate
to CSA that its personnel, equipment, test methods and record keeping meet the
requirements of the applicable Standard. The facility’s qualifications are assessed by
CSA, but it is the facility’s responsibility to
see that repaired equipment continues to conform to the applicable product Standards.

CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION:
A Certificate of Qualification, issued by CSA, is intended for display at the facility
provided that the CSA International Service Agreement is in effect and the facility
continues to conform to the qualification requirements. The certificate remains the
property of CSA and must be surrendered when qualification terminates for any reason.

PRODUCT MARKING:
The facility may apply the product marking to repaired equipment only when the work is
performed by the facility and by facility personnel at the location for which
Qualification has been granted.

Details: Nameplates bearing the original required marking shall not be removed from the
equipment and the CSA Mark shall not be defaced. The following information also appears:

(a) the name and address of the repair facility;
(b) the words "Repair Facility Qualified by CSA Group",
"Atelier de Reparation Qualifi? Par CSA Groupe";
(c) the CSA Mark, adjacent to the words stipulated in Item (b) above;
(d) date or date code of repair;
(e) electrical rating, where applicable;
(f) rating of temperature limiting devices where appropriate; and
(g) repair job or order number.

Method: A single metal nameplate is secured by screws, rivets or drive pins in bottomed
holes adjacent to the original manufacturer’s nameplate.
