The leadership and expertise of CSA Group’s committee members are critical to helping us create a better, safer, and more sustainable world. Each year, we honor members whose contributions and commitment are especially noteworthy by presenting the John Jenkins Award, the Award of Merit, and the Young Professional Award. John Jenkins Award

The John Jenkins Award is the most prestigious honor awarded by CSA Group. Each year, we bestow this award on an individual in recognition of their distinguished service in the development, advancement, and application of voluntary standards.

Who is Eligible?
Nomination is open to individuals who:

  • have received an Award of Merit
  • showed leadership in various areas through personal involvement over the years, in the development, advancement, and application of voluntary standards
  • encouraged the development and advancement of national and international standards
  • through foresight and action, helped to substantially advance the role and impact that CSA standards have in creating a better, safer, more sustainable world where standards work for business and people
  • demonstrated a focus on building CSA Group’s culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • support initiatives that enhance responsiveness to stakeholder needs, including meeting established timelines

Note:  CSA Group employees and members of the CSA Group Board of Directors are not eligible for the John Jenkins Award. A nomination for the John Jenkins award must be supported by three voting members of CSA Group.

Award of Merit

The Award of Merit is bestowed by CSA Group upon individual members for outstanding contributions and leadership in the development and advancement of voluntary standards.

Who Is Eligible?

All present or past CSA Group voting members, as well as former CSA Group employees who:

  • Showed leadership in technical, administrative, or special committee activities.
  • Conducted activities which have been of special benefit to the work of CSA Group, such as published papers or presentations at meetings or conferences.
  • Advanced the prestige or interest of CSA Group
  • Demonstrated a focus on building CSA’s culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Support initiatives that enhance responsiveness to stakeholder needs, including meeting established timelines.

Note:  Members of the CSA Group Board of Directors are not eligible for an Award of Merit. A nomination for an Award of Merit must be supported by at least one voting member of CSA Group.

Young Professional Award

The Young Professional Award is bestowed by CSA Group to a young professional that has made outstanding contributions in the development and advancement of voluntary standards.

Who Is Eligible?

Nomination is open to individuals who:

  • Have less than 10 years of experience in the industry in which they are presently engaged.
  • Actively participated in CSA committee activity or related standardization work for a minimum of two years.
  • Encouraged and supported the engagement of peers in standards development work.
  • Showed leadership in technical, administrative or special committee activities.
  • Advanced the prestige or interest of CSA Group.
  • Have demonstrated a focus on building our culture of collaboration and continuous improvement and supporting initiative that enhance responsiveness to identified needs including meeting established timelines.

Note: A nomination for the Young Professional Award must submitted by a CSA Group or CSA Group staff.
