listed in this category are on Label Service unless specific approval has been
issued under the CSA Label Licensing Service.

COVERAGE:

Metallic and nonmetallic cutout boxes, pull boxes (where the length does not exceed three
times the width and the volume exceeds 1640 mL) and junction boxes constructed for indoor
use in non-hazardous locations and designed to enclose wiring or electrical equipment,
such as terminals or not more than four overcurrent devices, where the installation of
such equipment is made in the field under the jurisdiction of the inspection authority
concerned.

The boxes are usually in excess of 100 cu in volume.

This category does not include enclosures for use in Class I or Class II hazardous
locations.

REQUIREMENTS:

MARKING:

All marking required by CSA must be permanent, legible, and located on the box proper
and the door where readily accessible for review after installation of the equipment,
except as permitted otherwise. The contents consist of:

• submittor's and factory identification;
• model designation or equivalent (where applicable);
• special purpose enclosure designation (where applicable);
• additional markings as may be required by the applicable Standards for specific models
  or usages.
• on polymeric enclosures: "CAUTION: BONDING BETWEEN CONDUIT CONNECTIONS IS NOT
  AUTOMATIC AND MUST BE PROVIDED AS A PART OF THE INSTALLATION" or "CAUTION:
  NON-METALLIC ENCLOSURES DO NOT PROVIDE GROUNDING BETWEEN CONDUIT CONNECTIONS. USE
  GROUNDING BUSHINGS AND JUMPER WIRES".
• where applicable: "CAUTION: WHEN USED AS A PULL BOX, INSTALLATION SHALL BE IN
  ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 370-18 OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AN51/NFPA 70-1990";
• CSA Mark and "US" indicator adjacent to the CSA
  Mark.

The marking method consists of a CSA ELECTRIC BOX label, together with moulding,
die-stamping, data plates or equally permanent marking applied at the factory.

CSA ELECTRIC BOX label.

Combination label may contain such information as company
name, trade name, CSA File Number or Master Contract Number, model number.
Combination label Material Number will vary.

CSA Labels are available only from
CSA but are applied at the factory. Label License Service option
is available upon approval of customer application.
