COVERAGE:

Lighting fixtures for illumination purposes, designed specifically to prevent the
ignition of gases, vapours, dusts or flyings in the surrounding atmosphere or dust or
flyings on the luminaire. Any of the various types of light sources are used, such as
incandescent, fluorescent, tungsten-halogen, high intensity discharge, etc.

The following abbreviations may be used in the listing of these products:

Light source (lamp):
inc – incandescent
fluor – fluorescent
MH – metal-halide
MV – mercury-vapour
TH – tungsten-halogen (includes quartz-iodine, QI)
LPS – low pressure sodium
HPS – high-pressure sodium

Lamp or lampholder base:
Mog – mogul
M – medium
Byt – bayonet
Pn – pin

Fluorescent lamp types:
PH – preheat
RS – rapid-start
HORS – high-output rapid start
SL – slimline
VHO – very high output (includes SHO – super high output and PGHO – power-groove high
output)
IS – instant-start

Letters following the lamp wattage denote the lamp type designation for incandescent
lamps (e.g. 60W A represents a 60 watt, Type A incandescent lamp).

  • Submittor’s identification;
  • Model designation or equivalent;
  • Electrical rating, where applicable;
  • Maximum lamp-wattage and lamp type caution where legible during lamp replacement, where
    applicable;
  • Temperature code or equivalent, where applicable;
  • Applicable hazardous locations designation;
  • "FACTORY SEALED/SCELLE EN USINE", where applicable;
  • Date code or equivalent, where accessible without the use of tools;
  • Cautions, warnings and additional markings as may be required;
  • CSA Mark.
