REGULATORS (GAS) - Line Pressure-Certified to U.S. Standards

COVERAGE:

Line Pressure Regulators in this section are designed either individual or in
combination with over pressure protection devices intended for application in natural,
manufactured, and mixed gases, liquefied petroleum gases and LP gas-air mixtures
gas
piping systems between the service regulator and the gas appliances.

REQUIREMENTS:

ANSI Z21.80/CSA 6.22 Line Pressure Regulators

They are classified in accordance with their intended application with reference to
inlet and outlet pressures as follows:

Rated Inlet Pressure Maximum Outlet Pressure – Class I Maximum Outlet Pressure – Class II
2 psi (13.8 kPa) 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa) ————-
5 psi (34.5 kPa) 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa) 2 psi (13.8 kPa)
10 psi (68.9 kPa) 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa) 2 psi (13.8 kPa)

Line pressure regulators should be selected, installed and used in accordance with the
manufacturers' specifications for regulation and load capacities, mounting position and
operating temperature range.

Line pressure regulators, rated for inlet gas pressures in excess of 2 psi (13.8 kPa) and Class II
regulators capable of being adjusted to deliver an outlet pressure of ? psi
(3.5 kPa) or less, must be used
in combination with an overpressure protection device.

Regulators shall be installed in accordance with local codes, or in the
absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223/NFPA 54.
Regulators installed indoors shall be vented or installed with a certified vent
limiter, which is made of materials having a melting point of not less than
800?F (427?C).

Sizes shown are for standard female tapered pipe threads unless otherwise indicated.

Testing for use with liquefied petroleum gases  have been conducted in accordance
with the OSHA Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory Program.
