This voluntary recall involves the Kobalt 40V Lithium-Ion 12-inch Cordless Chainsaw.

Hazard identified: The switch contacts could weld causing the unit to remain in the “on” position resulting in the continued operation of the products when the trigger is released, posing a laceration hazard.

As of September 2020, the company has received 3 report(s) of the chainsaw remaining in the “on” position in Canada, and no report(s) of injury. In the United States, the company has received 45 report(s) of the chainsaw remaining in the “on” position , and no report(s) of injury.

What to do: Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact the distributor for further information.
