GD Midea Air Conditioning Equipment Company recalls various brand dehumidifiers

This recall involves 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 65, 70, and 75-pint dehumidifiers with the following brand names: Airworks, Alen, Arcticaire, Arctic King, Beaumark, Coolworks, ComfortAire, Comfort Star, Continental Electic, Crosley, Daewoo, Danby, Danby & Designer, Dayton, Degree, Diplomat, Edgestar, Excell, Fellini, Forest Air, Frigidaire, GE, Grunaire, Hanover, Honeywell, Homestyles, Hyundai, Ideal Air, Kenmore, Keystone, Kul, Mainstay, Midea, Nantucket, Ocean Breeze, Pelonis, Perfect Air, Perfect Home, Polar Wind, Premiere, Professional Series, Royal Sovereign, Simplicity, Sunbeam, Sunpentown, Sylvania, TGM, Touch Point, Trutemp, Uberhaus, Westpointe and Winix.

Consumers can use the model selection tool on the recall website to enter their unit’s manufacturing information and find out whether their dehumidifier unit is affected.
The dehumidifiers can overheat, smoke or catch fire, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product.
