CSA Group, a leading global provider of standards development and testing and certification services, announced today it has opened a new office in Milan, Italy.  The new expanded CSA Group office is fully independent and will specialize in factory inspection, field evaluation testing, and testing and certification of commercial and household electric and gas appliances, HVAC/R, audio/video equipment and industrial plumbing products.

“We are very excited to open this new office in Milan, which expands our footprint and provides better local service to our clients. The expansion moves us to a new building and starts an exciting new chapter for CSA Group in Italy,” said Ralf Schunk, CSA Group Regional Vice President Europe. “We plan to continue to expand in Italy, adding services and hiring new people to meet the needs of our clients locally, and throughout Europe.”

Under the direction of Alberto Carelli, CSA Group Country Manager Italy, the new office offers testing and certification services for safety, energy efficiency, sanitation, functional safety, and expansion into gas testing for North America, Europe, and Asia markets. It also offers field evaluation programs, special inspections for Canada and US field evaluations for the US.  These programs may be delivered in one week’s time. CSA Group’s qualified personnel collect the necessary information, prepare the inspection, conduct it on site and – if passed – immediately certify and label each product on site.

In 2011, CSA Group expanded into Europe with the establishment of its European headquarters in Frankfurt (Germany) and since then has accelerated its growth and will continue to expand. CSA Group’s operations in Europe include laboratories in Frankfurt and Switzerland which offer testing for medical and laboratory equipment, labs in Strasskirchen and Leyland (England) which conduct testing and certification of automotive components and a Hazardous Locations laboratory in Chester (England). CSA Group also has branch offices in The Netherlands, and testing facilities in Turkey and employs more than 400 experts across Europe. In addition, CSA Group is planning to expand in Germany and the UK over the next several years in order to meet the growing demand of clients Europe and around the world.
