India (MeitY) - Requirement of Compulsory Registration Order
The Ministry of Electronics and information Technology (MeitY) of India has published an amendment for the “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order” published in March 2021. Manufacturers already registered under the Order will be able to defer the application of the Order by six months for any goods manufactured at any new location in India, as long as the new location is within the responsibility of the same manufacturer and the specific type/model number of goods manufactured at this location are already covered within the scope of registration for the manufacturer at any other location. The amendment also contains information about a transition period for affixing the Standard Mark at Custom ports, and an exemption from the application of the Order for Highly Specialized Equipment (HSE).
