December 2020, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) issued the Short Range Devices (SRD) Radio Spectrum Guidelines. The guidelines specify rules for the usage of SRD in Egypt while also defining the technical parameters.

The scope of this document is to provide the regulatory provisions and technical limitations for using short-range device equipment including frequency ranges, maximum permissible power levels, channel spacing or modulation/maximum occupied bandwidth and duty cycle. The regulation is issued in accordance with Egypt telecommunication law No. 10 of 2003.

These new dispositions came into force immediately.
