In co-operation with CSA International, W. C. Wood Company Limited of Guelph, Ontario, today announced a voluntary recall of large Kenmore plastic body dehumidifiers model number 25338 and 25439, and 45 pint Kenmore Dehumidifier model number 25345. W.C. Wood’s is recalling the dehumidifier due to a control panel wiring malfunction, which could potentially cause an electrical shock. There have been no reported incidents of electrical shock, injury or product failure.

In the interest of customer safety, W.C. Wood’s urges customers who purchased the Kenmore Dehumidifier from Sears Canada Inc. to discontinue its use immediately. Sears will contact consumers to determine whether their dehumidifier is affected by the recall, and will arrange to have the unit repaired.

Sears sold these affected dehumidifiers nation-wide from March of 2002 through June 2002 under the “Kenmore” brand name.
