Preface
This is the eighth edition of CSA Standard B125, Plumbing Fittings. It supersedes the previous editions published in 1962, 1967, 1975, 1985, 1989, and 1993, and a 1954 edition entitled Plumbing Brass.
The major changes in this new edition include
(a) the inclusion of master thermostatic water-mixing valves (referencing ASSE Standard 1017) and nominal size NPS-4 and smaller (see Clause 1.1);
(b) the exclusion of all conversions from metric to imperial units in the text;
(c) the inclusion of a metric conversion table in Appendix A;
(d) the inclusion of Clause 3.8, Barrier-Free Design;
(e) the inclusion of vacuum relief airport protection to fittings with single moveable outlets (see Clause 4.5.5);
(f) the inclusion of NSF Standard 61, Section 9 (see Clause 4.6.1);
(g) the inclusion of torque specifications on mechanical flow restrictors (see Clause 4.9.6);
(h) the exclusion of design requirements for waste fitting stoppers (see Clause 5.7);
(i) the inclusion of requirements for elastomeric tubular materials and parts (see Clauses 5.8 and 5.9);
(j) the inclusion of life wear requirements for valve stems and waste fittings (see Clause 6.4.1);
(k) the inclusion of diverters in Table 3; and
(l) the exclusion of maximum C dimensions from Figure 1.
This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Plumbing Fittings under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Plumbing Products and Materials. It has been formally approved by the Technical Committee.
Scope

(k) humidifier supply stops;
(l) sediment and lawn faucets;
(m) supply line stops;
(n) trap primers;
(o) thermal expansion relief valves;
(p) bath and shower waste fittings;
