    parentheses are for information only.

    B137.4-99
    1. Scope

    1.1
This Standard provides requirements for polyethylene pipe, tubing, and
fittings for use in gas mains and services, including gathering,
transmission, and distribution applications, that cany fuel gases
containing not more than 1 % aromatic hydrocarbons.

    1.2
This Standard also applies to all types of fittings and connections used
in a plastic gas pipe system, including plastic-to-metal transition
fittings, plastic component fittings such as elbows, tees, end caps,
valves, etc, and clamps and couplings.
Note: Pipe refers to pipe having IPS outside diameters. Tubing
refers to pipe having copper tube size outside diameters. In this
Standard, where there are test requirements for pipe, they apply to both
    pipe and tubing.

    1.3
This Standard establishes the manufacturing and testing requirements
necessary to ensure that the polyethylene compound, pipe, and fittings

    B137.8-99
    1. Scope

    1.1
This Standard provides requirements for polybutylene (P8) pipe, tubing,
and fittings. Nominal pipe sizes (NPS) covered are from NPS-1/4 through
    NPS-2.

Fittings covered include insert-type fittings, socket fusion fittings,

These pipes, tubing, and fittings are intended for use in pressure
applications such as hot and cold potable and nonpotable water
distribution systems. Pipe, tubing, and fittings are intended for use in
690 kPa (100 psi) systems operating at temperatures up to and including
    82°e.

    Note:
Use of this tubing in other applications such as sprinkler systems
and slab heating systems is acceptable provided they comply with the
applicable code requirements. Refer to the manufacturer's
recommendations and Appendix B of this Standard.

    1.2
The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given
in parentheses are for information only.

    B137.9-99
    1. Scope

    1.1
This Standard provides requirements for macrocomposite pipe consisting
of a welded aluminum tube laminated by a melt adhesive to layers of
polyethylene inside and outside the aluminum tube. The Standard also
provides requirements for fittings (connectors) for use with this
composite pipe. The pipes considered in this Standard are for use in
potable water supply systems and are pressure-rated for
    1380 kPa (200 psi) at 23°C and/or 1035 kPa (150 psi) at 60°C.

    1.2
The Standard includes requirements for materials, quality of work,
dimensions, thermocycling resistance, sustained pressure performance,
    delamination resistance, and marking.

    Notes:
    (1) In developing the hydrostatic design basis for the pipes, in
accordance with CSA Standard 8737.0, the fibre stress has been replaced
    by pressure.

    (2) The pressure rating of macrocomposite pipes is sensitive to the
thickness of the aluminum metal reinforcing layer. Pipes having the same
dimension ratio but different metal reinforcing layer thicknesses will
have different pressure ratings. Dimension ratio therefore cannot be
used, as it is with homogeneous walled pipes, for assessing changes in
pressure rating with wall thickness variation.

    1.3
The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values in
    parentheses are for information only.

    Appendix C
    Ct. Scope

The following Clauses cover performance qualification and in-plant
quality control for component design and manufacture to provide
reasonable assurance that the PB hot- and cold-water distribution system
components supplied under this Standard will consistently meet its
    requirements.

    B137.10-99
    1. Scope

    1.1
This Standard provides requirements for macrocomposite pipe consisting
of a welded aluminum tube laminated by a melt adhesive to layers of
crosslinked polyethylene inside and outside the aluminum tube. The
Standard also provides requirements for fittings (connectors) for use
with this composite pipe. The pipes considered in this Standard are for
use in potable cold- and hot-water supply, central heating, and under-
floor heating systems, and are pressure-rated for 1380 kPa (200 psi) at
    23°C and/or
    860 kPa (125 psi) at 82°C.

Values in parentheses are for information only.
