This Requirement applies to newly produced vented condensing gas fireplace heaters (see Part IV, Definitions), hereinafter referred to as appliance(s), not for use in recreational vehicles, constructed entirely of new, unused parts and materials, and having input ratings up to and including 400,000 Btu/hr (117 228 W). a. For use with natural gas; and b. For use with liquefied petroleum (propane).
1.1.11
This Requirement only apply to Category II and IV appliances. If test results show that the appliance is other than a Category II or IV appliance, the appliance will not fall under the confines of this Requirement.
1.1.12
All applicable construction requirements outlined in the current Standard for Vented Gas Fireplace Heaters, ANSI Z21.88/CSA 2.33, also apply to a vented condensing gas fireplace heater, unless otherwise specified herein.
1.1.13
An appliance for indoor installation designed to vent the flue gases horizontally through an outside wall shall be specified as Direct Vent or Category III or IV, except Category I and II appliances utilizing a listed mechanical venter applied externally to the venting system.
