Preface
This is the third edition of CSA Standard A93 (now CAN3-A93) and has been retitled Natural Airflow Ventilators for Buildings. It supersedes previous editions published in 1961, 1964, and 1965. It is written in SI (metric) units.
This new edition has been expanded to include natural airflow ventilators for any building and to allow for the use of materials other than aluminum. The performance of the vent is reflected in requirements and methods of test. The formulae for computing the net ventilating area of a vent are included in the Appendices.
This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Ventilators for Buildings under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Building Materials and Products, and was formally approved by these Committees. It has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
