CSA Preface
This is the first edition of CSA Standard CAN/CSA-E60598-2-3, Luminaires — Part 2: Particular requirements—Section three: Luminaires for road and street lighting, which is an adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled CEI/IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 598-2-3: 1993 (second edition, 1993-04), including Amendment 1:1 997.
This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on International Standards under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Resource Group, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. A list of the members of these Committees is available upon request. This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
Scope
This section of Part 2 of IEC Publication 60598 specifies requirements for luminaires for road and street lighting, for use with tungsten filament, tubular fluorescent, and other discharge lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 750 V. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part 1 to which reference is made.

II s'agit de l'adoption, avec exigences propres au Canada, de la norme internationale de la Commission Electrotechnique Internationale CEI/IEC 598-2-3: 1 993 (deuxième édition, 1 993-04), y compris l'Amendement 1:1 997, qui porte le même titre.
Cette norme a été révisée en vue de son adoption pour le Canada par le Comité technique CSA sur les normes internationales, sous l'autorité du Groupe ressource stratégique et a été approuvée par le Comité technique. Une liste des membres de ces comités est disponible sur demande. Cette norme a été approuvée comme Norme nationale du Canada par le Conseil canadien des normes.
Domaine d'application
Cette section de la deuxième partie de la CEI 60598 détaille les prescriptions applicables aux luminaires d'éclairage public à utiliser avec des lampes à filament de tungstène, des lampes tubulaires fluorescentes et autres lampes à décharge pour des tensions d'alimentation ne dépassant pas 750 V. Elle doit être lue conjointement avec les sections de la première partie auxquelles il est fait référence.
