1.1 This Standard covers the following types of vehicle¬mounted aerial devices used to elevate personnel to job sites above ground:
(a) telescopic aerial devices; (b) aerial ladders; (c) articulating aerial devices; (d) vertical towers; (e) material-lifting aerial devices; and (f) any combination of the above.
1.2 This Standard applies to devices listed in Clause 1.1 that are made of insulating and non insulating material; powered or manually-operated; and whether or not they are capable of rotating about a substantially vertical axis.
1.3 This Standard does not cover the type of devices that are designed to be driven from the operator's platform when it is in an operating position.
1.4 This Standard does not apply to any matter relating to fire-fighting equipment or any matter relating to the vehicles upon which aerial devices are mounted, except that the vehicle being used, while stationary, shall provide a stable and structurally adequate support for the aerial device.
