Preface

This harmonized CSA Group and UL standard for Hand-Held Motor-Operated Electric Tools – Safety – Part 2-15: Particular Requirements For Hedge Trimmers. It is the first edition of CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60745-2-15, and the first edition of UL 60745-2-15. This harmonized standard has been jointly revised on June 22, 2018. For this purpose, CSA Group and UL are issuing revision pages dated June 22, 2018.

This harmonized standard is based on IEC Publication 60745-2-15: edition 2.1, Standard for Hand-Held Motor-Operated Electric Tools – Safety – Part 2-15: Particular Requirements For Hedge Trimmers issued June 2009. IEC publication 60745-2-15 is copyrighted by the IEC.

This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.

Scope

This clause of Part 1 is applicable, except as follows:

1.1 Addition:

This standard applies to hedge trimmers which are designed for use by one operator for trimming hedges and bushes, utilizing one or more linear reciprocating cutter blades.

This standard is not applicable to hedge trimmers with a rotating blade.
