Preface
This is the fourth edition of C22.2 No. 47 (now CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 47), Air-Cooled Transformers (Dry Type). It is one of a Series of Standards issued by the Canadian Standards Association under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code. It supersedes previous editions published in 1940, 1961, and 1977 and is written in SI (metric) units.
New requirements have been added to cover wire bending space, marking of transformers for floor mounting on or over combustible surfaces, and marking of off—circuit tap switches.
Electrical Bulletin No. 1166, issued on April 19, 1978, has been incorporated in this Standard.
For general information on the Standards of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part II, see the preface of CSA Standard C22.2 No. 0, General Requirements--Canadian Electrical Code, Part II. This Standard was prepared by a Subcommittee of the Technical Committee on Industrial Products under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Canadian Electrical Code, Part II, and was formally approved by these Committees. It has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
