This clause of CSA Standard C22.2 No. 1335.1 is applicable except as follows:
1.1 Addition
This Standard applies to
(a) egg boilers; (b) milk heaters; (c) feeding-bottle heaters; (d) pressure cookers having a nominal cooking pressure not exceeding 140 kPa (1.4 bar) and a rated capacity not exceeding 10 litres; (e) slow cookers; (f) yoghurt-makers; (g) baby-food warmers/servers; (h) hot pots; (i) vegetable steamers; (j) rice cookers.
Note: Attention is drawn to the fact that in many countries requirements for pressure vessels are applied to pressure cookers.
1.6.101 Limitations
This Standard does not apply to:
(a) appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); (b) appliances for high-frequency heating; (c) appliances of the electrode type; (d) dry or steam pressure sterilizers; (e) portable immersion heaters; (f) frying pans and deep fat fryers, which are covered by a separate Particular Standard; (g) storage water heaters, which are covered by a separate Particular Standard; (h) instantaneous water heaters, which are covered by a separate Particular Standard; (i) appliances for medical purposes; (j) appliances marked exclusively for commercial catering or industrial purposes; (k) electric kettles; (l) coffee makers; (m) espresso coffee makers.
1.7.101
Until a specific CSA-C22.2 No. 1335.2 series standard for appliances for heating liquids for commercial catering purposes is issued, this standard may form a guide to suitable requirements and tests for such appliances.
