Preface

This is the second edition of CSA Standard 8340 (now CAN/CSA-B340), Selection and Use of Cylinders, Spheres, Tubes, and Other Containers for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Class 2. It supersedes the preliminary edition published in 1986. It was prepared at the request of Transport Canada as a related Standard to CANICSA-B339-M88, Cylinders, Spheres, and Tubes for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, with the intent that it will become part of the Regulations on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods.

Scope

This Standard covers safety requirements for the selection and use of cylinders, spheres, tubes, and other containers* for the transportation of dangerous goods, Class 2.
