ANSI/CSA HGV 4.10-2012 (R2019)

This publication represents a standard for safe operation, substantial & durable construction, and performance testing of fittings used with compressed hydrogen gas and hydrogen rich gas mixtures. Industry recognized there was no standard that addressed safety requirements for hydrogen fittings. 

The development of ANSI/CSA HGV 4.10-2012 – Fittings for Compressed Hydrogen Gas and Hydrogen Rich Gas Mixtures was necessary based on industry needs and feedback. The focus of this new fittings standard established performance based safety requirements for the material, design, manufacture and testing of fittings and stud ends for use with compressed gaseous hydrogen.

This publication represents a standard for safe operation, substantial and durable construction and performance testing of fittings used with compressed hydrogen gas and hydrogen rich gas mixtures, within limitations given below and in the scope of this standard.


Scope

This Standard specifies uniform methods for testing and evaluating the performance of fittings, including connectors and stud ends for ports, used with compressed hydrogen gas and hydrogen rich gas mixtures. This Standard does not include quick action couplings, flanges, or welded joints.
