1.1.1 This standard applies to newly produced, portable camp cooking stoves, hereinafter referred to as stoves, constructed entirely of new unused parts and materials, having input ratings of 12,000 Btu per hour (3516 W) or less per burner, and for use with propane HD-5 only. These stoves are intended for use both indoors in adequately ventilated structures and outdoors.
1.1.2 These requirements apply to (a) stoves designed to operate on a regulated inlet pressure and (b) stoves designed to operate on non regulated cylinder pressure.
1.1.3 This standard applies to (a) stoves designed for self-contained fuel supplies and using fuel cylinders of not more than 75 cubic inches (1230 cm³) (2½ pound nominal water capacity) and (b) stoves designed for use with self-contained fuel supplies as in a and for optional connection to a remote fuel cylinder by proper hose connections and fittings available from the stove manufacturer as an accessory package. Stove designs, where applicable, shall be consistent with the Standard for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases, ANSI/NFPA 58-1979.
1.1.4 If a value for measurement as given in this standard is followed by an equivalent value in other units, the first stated value is to be regarded as the specification.
