Preface
CSA Special Publication A266.4, Guidelines for the Use of Admixtures in Concrete, is one of a new series of CSA Publications covering air-entraining admixtures, chemical admixtures, pozzolanic mineral admixtures and guidelines for the use of admixtures.
This Publication is intended to be a guide for the use of air-entraining admixtures, chemical admixtures and pozzolanic mineral admixtures in Portland cement concrete.
This Standard was prepared by the Committee on Concrete Admixtures under the jurisdiction of the Sectional Committee on Concrete and was formally approved by these Committees.
Scope

This Special Publication covers the factors leading to the use of admixtures, the chemical composition and classification of admixtures, the effects of admixtures on the more important characteristics and properties of fresh and hardened concrete, and the application of admixtures in concrete construction.
1.1.2
This Special Publication also provides general guidance on methods of preparing, storing and dispensing admixtures and the evaluation of admixtures under field conditions.

This Special Publication is complementary to the-following CSA Standards and the guidelines herein are based on the use of admixtures conforming to
these Standards:
A266.1, Air-Entraining Admixtures for Concrete;
A2662, Chemical Admixtures for Concrete;
A2663, Pozzolanic Mineral Admixtures for Use in Portland Cement Concrete.
