Overview:
This course is part of the CSA Group Modular Online Training. This online course provides an overview of Section 64 in the 2018 Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1. Rather than reviewing the Code in its entirety, this course is designed to provide an overview of Section 64 of the CE Code.
The intent of Section 64 is to keep pace with technological changes by providing requirements for the safe installation of renewable energy systems. These Rules supplement or amend the general sections of the Code.
Section 64 does not cover installations where renewable energy systems operate as Class 2 circuits [with voltage and current limited in accordance with the requirements for these types of circuits.
A certificate of achievement is provided upon completion of the course.
For nearly 90 years, the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I has been and continues to be a comprehensive model Code that provides guidance to help make electrical installations and equipment safer.

- Gain an understanding of section 64 as it relates to renewable energy in the 2018 CE Code, Part 1.
- Understand the installation requirements for renewable energy systems and specific requirements for individual types of renewable energy systems, based on their application and operational characteristics
