    CSA Preface

    This is the second edition of CSA Standard CAN/CSA-E603352-25, Safety of household and similar electrical appliances - Part 2: Particular requirements for microwave ovens, which is an adoption, without modification, of the identically titled CEI/IEC (Commission Électrotechnique Internationale/lnternational Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 335-2-25 (fourth edition, 1996-07), including Amendment 1:1999. It supersedes the previous edition, published in 1994 as CAN/CSA-E335-2-25 (adopted CEI/IEC 335-2-25: 1993).

    This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.

    Scope

    This clause of part 1 is replaced by:

    This standard deals with the safety of microwave ovens for household use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V.

    So far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances which are encountered by all persons in and around the home.

    This standard does not, in general, take into account

    - the use of appliances by young children or infirm persons without supervision;

    - playing with the appliance by young children.

    NOTES

    1 Attention is drawn to the fact that:

    - for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary;

    - for appliances intended to be used in tropical countries, special requirements may be necessary;

    - in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, and similar authorities.

    2 This standard does not apply to:

    - commercial microwave ovens (IEC 335-2-90, under consideration);

    - industrial microwave heating equipment (IEC 519-6*)

    - appliances for medical purposes (IEC 601**)

    - appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas).

    3 This standard together with annex BB is applicable to combination microwave ovens and microwave ovens incorporating a browning function until IEC 335-2-100 is published.

    Préface CSA

    Ce document constitue la deuxième édition de la norme CAN/CSA-E60335-2-25, Sécurité des appareils électrodomestiques et analogues - Partie 2 : Règles particulières pour les fours à micro-ondes. II s’agit de l’adoption sans modifications de la norme CEI/IEC (Commission Électrotechnique Internationale/ International Electrotechnical Commission) 335-2-25 (quatrième édition, 1996-07), y compris l’Amendement 1 :1999, qui porte le même titre. Elle remplace l’édition précédente publiée en 1994 qui portait la désignation CAN/CSA-E335-2-25 (l’adoption de CEI/IEC 335-2-25: 1993).

    Cette norme a été élaborée conformément aux exigences du Conseil canadien des normes concernant les Normes nationales du Canada. Cette norme a été publiée en tant que Norme nationale du Canada par Groupe CSA.

    Domaine d'application

    L'article de la partie 1 est remplacé par:

    La présente norme traite de la sécurité des fours à micro-ondes pour usages domestiques, dont la tension assignée n'est pas supérieure à 250 V.

    Dans la mesure du possible, la présente norme traite des risques ordinaires présentés par les appareils, encourus par tous les individus à l'intérieur et autour de l'habitation.

    Cette norme ne tient, en général, pas compte:

    - de l'utilisation des appareils par des jeunes enfants ou des personnes handicapées, sans surveillance;

    - de l'emploi de l'appareil comme jouet par des jeunes enfants.

    NOTES

    1 L'attention est attirée sur le fait que:

    - pour les appareils destinés à être utilisés dans des véhicules ou à bord de navires ou d'avions, des prescriptions supplémentaires peuvent être nécessaires;

    - pour les appareils destinés à être utilisés dans les pays tropicaux, des prescriptions spéciales peuvent être nécessaires;

    - dans de nombreux pays, des prescriptions supplémentaires sont imposées par les organismes nationaux de la santé publique, par les organismes nationaux responsables de la protection des travailleurs et par des organismes similaires.

    2 La présente norme ne s'applique pas:

    - aux fours à micro-ondes à usage commercial (CEI 335-2-90, à l'étude);

    - aux installations électrothermiques industrielles à micro-ondes (CEI 519-6*)

    - aux appareils à usage médical (CEI 601**)

    - aux appareils destinés à être utilisés dans des locaux présentant des conditions particulières, telles que la présence d'une atmosphère corrosive ou explosive (poussière, vapeur ou gaz);

    3 La présente norme avec son annexe BB est applicable aux fours à micro-ondes combinés et aux fours à micro-ondes comportant une fonction de brunissement jusqu'à ce que la CEI 335-2-100 soit publiée.
