Course Overview

  • Duration: 3 Days
  • Cost: $2,100 USD

In the Advanced Hazardous Locations (HazLoc) Intrinsic Safety – Level 2 course, our expert instructors equip participants with a robust understanding of various electrical and electronic components. This course covers the definition, assessment, and testing of specific components like transformers, fuses, and supercapacitors. It also explores the intricacies of Intrinsically Safe (IS) cells and batteries, their construction, and safety measures. Our instructors will provide an understanding of pollution degree reduction and separation distances, according to the requirements stipulated in Annex F., as well as an overview of nonlinear power supplies and crowbars.

This course will delve into spark ignition assessment and safety-critical components. Lastly, it covers the significant changes from Edition 6 to Edition 7 of IEC 60079-11, equipping participants with a strong understanding of the changing requirements.

Training covers the following standards:

  • IEC 60079-0:2017 (EN/CSA/UL 60079-0 latest edition)
  • IEC 60079-11:2023
  • IEC 60079-11:2011 (EN/CSA/UL 60079-11 latest edition)

Upon the completion of this course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Note: Please note that this training course is currently only conducted in English.
