AUTHORIZED PACKAGERS OF CSA CERTIFIED PRODUCTS - Authorized Packagers of CSA Certified Products

COVERAGE:

The Authorized Packager of CSA Certified Products Program is intended for any person, company, or any other entity engaged in the acquisition of CSA certified products manufactured by others for the purpose of packaging the products into containers at authorized locations. The products in this class are intended for general sale.

The Authorized Packagers of CSA Certified Products Program covers only the markings appearing on the package insofar as they relate to the requirements for the CSA Certified contents and to the CSA Mark. The Authorized Packagers Program applies to any CSA Certified products except:

– Panel shops;

– Custom built Panel boards;

– Switchgear;

– Contract tested products;

– Energy Efficiency Verification program;

– Custom built products;

– Products approved under Special Inspection/Field Certification services;

– Wire and cable products;

– Child resistant packaging; or

– Products in kit form whose parts are not already in a separate sealed container bearing a CSA "Kit" label to prevent the interchangeability of parts or components.

The Authorized Packagers Program does not apply to the durability of packaging or the materials used in the manufacture of the packaging and is not intended for manufacturers who package CSA Certified products that they manufacture themselves.

MARKING:

All marking required by CSA must be permanent, legible, and located where readily accessible for review.

The marking on each package consist of:

– packager's master contract number or CSA file number adjacent to the CSA Mark;

– date code or equivalent;

– additional markings as may be required to comply with the Certification requirements applicable to the type of product contained in the package;

– The catalogue or model number under which a product has been certified included on (or in) the package when there is no such identification on the product itself, but only where Certification requirements permit such a marking on the package, unless the packager wishes to identify the packaged product with a catalogue or model number other than the one under which the product was certified; and CSA Mark.
