LOW LEAD CONTENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM - PLUMBING PRODUCTS

COVERAGE

Products including but not limited to the following; pipe, pipe or plumbing fitting or fixture, solder, or flux used in the installation or repair of any public water system or any plumbing in a facility providing water for human consumption.

REQUIREMENTS:

NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 Drinking water system components – Lead Content

Note: Products certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 conform to the requirements for "lead free" plumbing products as defined by California, Vermont, Maryland and Louisiana state law and by Section 1417 of the US Safe Drinking Water Act.

MARKING:

All markings required by CSA must be permanent and legible. Devices or components shall be labeled in a manner to ensure that all markings are visible after installation. Where it is not practical to place the markings directly on the device, component or material, the markings shall be located on the container or packaging and/or literature accompanying the device, component or material. The content consists of:

  • manufacturer's identification;
  •  CSA Mark with "C", "US" indicator;;
  •  Qualifiers "NSF/ANSI 372" or NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 or "LLC" or "LOW LEAD CONTENT" below or adjacent the CSA Mark*;
  • product identification (optional).

*The word "ONLY" shall be adjacent to the qualifier if the product is being certified only for lead content and bears no other certification.

Products shall be installed in Accordance with the Local Code of the Authority having Jurisdiction.

Note: For Submersible Pumps not readily accessible after installation the language "Devices or components shall be labeled in a manner to ensure that all markings area visible after installation" can be omitted from the marking requirements.
