This bundle includes the training course and certification exam for compressed hydrogen gas (CHG) container and fuel system inspection.
Training Course
This course provides technicians and mechanics with guidance for the inspection of compressed hydrogen gas (CHG) containers. Safety for both the inspector and end user is a large focus of the course, as are the foundational standards, components, and processes required to inspect a hydrogen vehicle fuel system.
As hydrogen gains in popularity as a fuel source, there is a need for qualified inspectors who understand the unique properties of hydrogen and how these impact the inspection and operation of a hydrogen fuel system.
Here are the topics you can expect to cover during this course.
- Major energy subsystems and hydrogen system components and operation
- Potential gas and system safety hazards
- Fuel container types, construction and materials
- The role of manufacturers guidelines in the inspection process
- Fuel container and system standards
- Types and levels of fuel container damage
Certification Exam
The Hydrogen Fuel System Inspector Personnel Certification program has been developed by CSA Group in conjunction with interested parties in the industry to provide assurance that an individual possesses the competencies deemed necessary to perform the job function of a Hydrogen Fuel System Inspector. The certification is designed to complement accreditation programs for verification bodies.
The development of this certification is guided by the ISO/IEC 17024 standard. ISO/IEC 17024 is the global benchmark for organizations operating personnel certification programs and outlines the methods and procedures required to ensure the objective and unbiased assessment of a candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
The examination will test the candidate’s ability to inspect compressed hydrogen vehicle containers and fuel systems, identify and document deficiencies, and the safe handling of containers and fuel system components.
This exam is based on categories of tasks and knowledge required by a Hydrogen Fuel System Inspector. The list below outlines the examination content by category.
