1.1.1 This standard applies to portable type gas camp lights for use:
(a) with propane, or butane, normal butane, Butylene, or any mixture of them. (b) outdoors only (c) indoors/outdoors (d) for the purpose of this standard indoors refers to a confined space, such as; tents, recreational vehicles, cottages, fishing huts, cabins, and other similarly enclosed areas.
1.1.2 This standard applies to lights having:
(a) a regulated pressure (b) a non-regulated pressure
1.1.3 This standard applies to lights:
(a) directly connected to the container. (b) remotely connected to the container.
1.1.4 This standard does not apply lights incorporating or designed to used with a fuel supply of 200 g (7 or less to be ounces).
1.1.5 Lights which comply with the provisions will not necessarily be acceptable if when examined and tested are found to have other features which impair the results contemplated by these provisions.
1.1.6 Lights and components employing materials or having forms of construction differing from those detailed in these provisions may be examined and tested according to the intent of the provisions and if found to be satisfactorily equivalent, may be given recognition.
1.1.7 This standard applies to lights constructed entirely of new, unused parts and materials.
1.2 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION AND ASSEMBLY 1.2.1 Construction features and tbe quality of the workmanship shall be in conformity with acceptable engineering practices and shall provide the results contemplated by these provisions.
1.2.2 A gas light shall be easy to light without danger of cutting or burning hands.
1.4.2 or breaking the mantle. when using normal precautions.
1.2.3 Removable parts shall be designed so that they cannot be easily replaced incorrectly.
