Preface/Scope

Scope

This section of IEC 1000-4 relates to the immunity requirements and test methods for electrical and electronic equipment, under operational conditions, to oscillatory waves represented by:

(a) non-repetitive damped oscillatory transients (ring wave) occurring in low-voltage power, control and signal lines supplied by public and non-public networks;
(b) repetitive damped oscillatory waves occurring mainly in power, control and signal cables installed in high voltage and medium voltage (HV/MV) stations.

NOTE - According to the frequencies considered in this standard, it is only relevant for an insulated switchgear.

The object of this basic standard is to establish the immunity requirements and a common reference for evaluating in a laboratory the performance of electrical and electronic equipment intended for residential, commercial and industrial application, as well as of equipment intended for electrical stations, as applicable.

The purpose of this standard is to define:

- test voltage and current waveforms; - ranges of test levels; - test equipment; - test set-up; - test procedure.

This Standard does not intend to specify the tests to be applied to particular apparatus or systems. Its main aim is to give a general basic reference to all concerned product committees of the IEC. The product committees (or users and manufacturers of equipment) remain responsible for the appropriate choice of the tests and the severity level to be applied to their equipment.

In order to impede the task of coordination and standardization, the product committees or users and manufacturers are strongly recommended to consider (in their future work or revision of old standards) the adoption of the relevant immunity tests specified in this standard.

Domaine d’application

La présente section de la CEI 1000-4 traite des exigences en matière d'immunité et des méthodes d'essai des matériels électriques et électroniques dans leurs conditions d'exploitation, contre les ondes oscillatoires. Ces ondes oscillatoires sont représentées par:
(a) des oscillations transitoires amorties non répétitives (ondes sinusoïdales amorties) se manifestant sur les alimentations basse tension ainsi que sur les lignes de commande et de signal raccordées aux réseaux publics ou privés;
(b) des ondes oscillatoires répétitives amorties se produisant principalement dans des câbles d'énergie, de commande et de signal implantés dans tous les types de postes haute tension et moyenne tension (HT et MT).

NOTE - Compte tenu des fréquences considérées dans cette norme, elle est uniquement applicable aux appareils isolés par l'air.

La présente norme fondamentale a pour objet d'établir les exigences d'immunité et de constituer une référence commune pour l'évaluation en laboratoire des performances d'équipements électriques et électroniques destinés aux applications résidentielles, commerciales et industrielles, ainsi que d'équipements destinés aux postes électriques, le cas échéant.

La présente norme a pour objet de définir les paramètres suivants: - tension d'essai et formes d'ondes de courant; - gammes de niveaux d'essais; - matériel d'essai; - installation d'essai; - procédure d'essai.

Cette norme ne vise pas à spécifier les essais devant s'appliquer à des appareils ou systèmes particuliers. Le but principal est de donner une référence de base d'ordre général à tous les comités de produits CEI concernés. Les comités des produits (ou les utilisateurs et fabricants de matériel) restent responsables du choix approprié des essais et du niveau de sévérité à appliquer à leur matériel.

Afin de ne pas entraver la tâche de coordination et de normalisation, il est fortement recommandé aux comités de produits ou aux utilisateurs et fabricants d'envisager d'adopter les essais d'immunité appropriés et spécifiés dans cette norme (lors de futurs travaux ou révisions d'anciennes normes).
