1.1 This Standard applies to high-voltage insect killers (HVIK) for use in nonhazardous locations either indoors or outdoors, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
1.2 This Standard applies to equipment either permanently connected or cord-connected and operating from a nominal ac supply of 300 V or less and having a secondary voltage of 15 kV maximum.
1.3 This Standard does not specify the effectiveness of the equipment in the control of insect populations.
