Preface
This is the third edition of CSA Standard A277, Procedure for Certification of Factory-Built Houses. It supersedes previous editions, published in 1981 and 1972.
This new edition was prepared to provide a common approach to certification for modular, panelized, and mobile homes, with each sector utilizing its own applicable technical requirements.
In preparing this new edition, emphasis has been placed on the plant quality program and on the capability of each plant to manufacture its product. Correspondingly, the Standard calls for the certification agency to carry out audits of the plant quality program and to inspect the product being built.
