Preface
This is the second edition of CSA Standard Z94.4, Selection, Use, and Care of Respirators. It supersedes the first edition published in 1982.It includes GI #2.
Scope
1.1
This Standard sets out requirements for the proper selection, use, and care of respiratory protective devices and for the administration of an effective respiratory protection program.
1.2
This Standard does not apply to
(a) underwater breathing devices;
(b) aircraft oxygen systems;
(c) military masks; or
(d) inhalators and resuscitators.
1.3
In this Standard the word shall indicates a mandatory requirement; should indicates a recommendation which is advised but is not mandatory. Notes accompanying clauses provide explanatory or informative material that is not properly a part of this Standard.
