Preface
This is the second edition of CSA C49.2, Compact round aluminum conductors steel reinforced (ACSR). It supersedes the previous edition, published in 1975 under the title Compact Aluminum Conductors Steel Reinforced (ACSR).
This Standard covers the electrical and mechanical characteristics of
a) round 1350-H19 hard-drawn aluminum wires (A1) before compacting;
b) round zinc-coated hard-drawn steel core wires (S1A); and
c) bare compact round concentric-lay-stranded aluminum conductors steel reinforced, constructed from the wires specified in Items (a) and (b) and intended for use in overhead lines.
This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Overhead Electrical Conductors, under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Steering Committee on Power Engineering and Electromagnetic Compatibility, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee.
This standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.Group.
