B63-1966 (R1971)
Welded and Seamless Steel Pipe
Product Details
Preface
This new edition of CSA Standard B63 supersedes two previous editions published in 1942 and 1949.
The 1949 edition included general rephrasing and arrangement which brought it in conformity with these aspects in the companion CSA Standard B62, Welded Genuine Wrought-Iron Pipe. In addition, revisions were made similar to the amendments that had been made in the corresponding American Standard.
Since that time further amendments have been made in the American Standard and this edition of B63 now includes the latest of these and other minor changes which make available a Standard that represents present day practices and requirements in the Canadian steel pipe industry.
All references to lapwelded pipe have been deleted from this edition. Test procedures and requirements for electric resistance welded pipe have been increased and extreme changes have been made concerning the flattening test. Weights and dimension tables have been enlarged and other minor changes made.
This Standard was prepared by the Committee on Wrought—Iron, Lead, and Steel Pipe under the jurisdiction of the Sectional Committee on Plumbing Products and Materials, and was formally approved by these Committees, the Sectional Committee on Mechanical Work, and the CSA Technical Council.
