1.1 This Standard covers the selection, handling, and use of intermodalportable tanks for the transpor¬tation, other than by air, of dangerous goods of Classes 3, 4, 5, 6, a, and 9.1 as defined by the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
Note: For intermodal portable tank shipments of dan¬gerous goods to and from Canada, the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code or the US Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, or both, apply. Where transportation is by rail, the rail impact test in CSA Standard 8620 also applies.
