Commercializing compressed natural gas as a vehicle fuel requires that natural gas vehicle standards addressing safety and performance be updated as technology advances. This addenda contains major revisions to service conditions, material qualification tests and requirements, marking and dispatch, design qualification tests, and test requirements for designs and design changes.
The ANSI NGV 2 standard and this addenda are based on engineering principles, research and the combined expertise of gas utilities, manufacturers, users and others having specialized experience.
