Donna Jarvie
Donna has been working in the field of Training & Development for over 30 years and her involvement has included all facets of the function, from conducting needs analysis and development of training programs through to administration of training activities, delivery of programs and overall management of client training services. She was also responsible for strategic planning, sales and operations management of the Training Department at SGS Canada Inc. for almost 10 years. She is currently providing training & consulting services to clients who are interested in developing their quality management systems to achieve certification to ISO 9001 and beyond, to proactively identify continual improvement opportunities. She provides auditor mentoring, coaching & training programs in a variety of topics which include both management-system related topics (QMS and EMS) as well as management/leadership-related programs. She continues to conduct third-party certification and surveillance audits on behalf of SGS Canada Inc. as an IRCA Registered Lead Auditor, and represents other organizations as a contract instructor, including Canadian Standards Association, for course topics such as Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015 Essentials and Internal Auditor) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 Essentials and Internal Auditor). She has also provided Internal Auditing and Vendor Auditing services to clients for Quality Management Systems.
Donna was employed by SGS SSC, one of the world’s leading registrars of management systems, for almost ten years. In her final year, she assumed a role of International Sales Manager, North America, working with global organizations to assist them in overseeing their Management System registration(s) on a global, multi-site scale. In less than one year, she was able to confirm global contracts with an estimated value of $700K US.
Prior to her role in sales, Ms. Jarvie held the position of General Manager of SGS Business Management Solutions, managing the delivery of training & improvement consulting services to a wide range of clients. She was responsible for the development and presentation of all SGS courses within North America (English, French and Spanish), including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949 as well as any other courses developed in response to customer requests. Her responsibilities also included the development, accreditation and maintenance of SGS’ ANSI-RAB NAP accreditation for the QMS Lead Auditor and EMS Lead Auditor courses and the development and approval of instructors for both accredited and non-accredited courses. In this role, she acted as the Management Representative and held overall responsibility for the Quality Management System used to administer these programs.
Donna is also a Certified Trainer with Langevin Learning Services and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Honours French) from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
