Course Overview
Qualified Medical Gas Technician Training is intended for persons who perform maintenance on Medical Gas related components. If you work on or supervise people who work on medical gas systems or the many parts of these systems, this course will help develop your skill in planning, troubleshooting, servicing and testing these critical systems. You will learn about the hazards of the work to stay safe and keep your patients safe as well. You’ll see how the CSA standards help to properly plan, perform, test and document med gas maintenance and service work so you have the skill to go beyond the basics and do the job right.

Mark Allen
He has been involved in the medical gas industry since 1978. He started out of university with one of the earliest certification firms when “certification” of medical gas systems was a concept yet to be widely accepted.
Since 1985, he has been involved in virtually all aspects of medical gas work, including testing and verification, regulatory, advocacy, product development, marketing, and education.
He is an active member of CSA Group’s Technical Committee on Medical Gas and Vacuum Systems standards and represents Canada as secretary of the ISO TC121 / SC6 /WG4 committee. He is also an active member of the NFPA’s Technical Committee on Medical Gas and Vacuum Systems standards in the U.S. He has been honored by the MGPHO Verifier’s organization as a special expert.
Mr. Allen is involved in many activities related to better medical gas systems, including Standards development and Instruction to ASSE 6020 (Inspector), 6040 (Maintainer) and now 6060 (Designer) courses.
He is also the author of numerous journal articles, design guides and other technical aids for the engineering of medical gases.
