CAN/CSA-O132.2 SERIES-90 (R2003)
Wood Flush Doors
Product Details
Preface
This is the first consolidated edition of the O132.2 Series on wood flush doors. It supersedes Clause 1 Scope, Clause 2 Definitions, Clause 3 Flush Doors, and Clause 5 Glue Line Requirements for Wood Doors of CSA Standard O132.2-M1977 Wood Doors.
Requirements for Stile and Rail Doors are still covered in CSA Standard O132.2-M1977 in Clause 1 Scope, Clause 2 Definitions, Clause 4 Stile and Rail Doors, Clause 5 Glue Line Requirements and three amendments to Clause 5 published in November 1983.
Each Standard describes a particular aspect of door construction or manufacture. The following Standards are included in this series:
(a) General Requirements for Wood Flush Doors (O132.2.0):
(b) Solid Core Wood Flush Doors (O132.2.1):
(c) Hollow Core Wood Flush Doors (O132.2.2):
(d) Testing and Inspection Requirements for Wood Flush Doors (O132.2.3): and
(e) Hardware Locations for Wood Flush Doors (O132.2.4).
This series of Standards is published by the Canadian Standards Association to provide guidance to producers, distributors, architects, builders, code officials, government agencies, and the public. It includes criteria that will permit freedom of architectural expression. Nevertheless, custom made, special order wood flush doors will continue to be available for all types of architectural designing.
Both imperial and metric (SI) units are listed in this series. However, where confusion or conflict occurs, imperial units are to be taken as the standard. Metric conversions are approximate equivalents.

O132.2.0 - General Requirements for Wood Flush Doors
Scope
1.1
This Standard provides quality, dimension, and terminology criteria for the principal types, sizes, and constructions of wood flush doors. Requirements are given for wood veneer, plywood, high pressure decorative laminate, hardboard, and composition faces; adhesives; core constructions; moisture content; dimensions and tolerances; and face panel grading descriptions. Provisions are made for identifying construction and type of adhesive bond grade marking on each door on a voluntary basis or as specified by the purchaser. A glossary of trade terms and definitions is also provided.

O132.2.1 - Solid Core Wood Flush Doors
Scope
1.1
This Standard provides quality, dimension, and terminology criteria for the principal types, sizes, grades, and constructions of solid core wood flush doors. Requirements are given for core materials, stiles, rails, edge bands, and face panels. Because of constant technological changes and product improvements in component parts used by door manufacturers, industry standards referenced in this document may become outdated. This Standard is under constant review so that changes and improvements such as these can be evaluated, recognized, and incorporated as quickly as possible. It is the intent of this Standard to provide requirements for doors consistent with industry practices and technical advances.
1.2
Any door manufactured conforming to this Standard shall also conform to CSA Standard O132.2.0.

O132.2.2 - Hollow Core Wood Flush Doors
Scope
1.1
This Standard provides quality, dimension, and terminology criteria for the principal types, sizes, grades, and constructions of hollow core wood flush doors.

O132.2.3 - Test and Inspection Requirements for Wood Flush Doors
Scope
1.1
This Standard provides testing, measurement, and inspection criteria for the principal types, sizes, grades, and constructions of wood flush doors. Requirements are given for Type I and Type II Adhesive Bond Tests. Provisions are made for identifying construction and type of adhesive bond grade marking each door on a voluntary basis or as specified by the purchaser.
1.2 Production Inspections and Tests
During the process of manufacturing wood flush doors, the manufacturer shall make such inspections and tests as are needed to maintain the quality of the wood flush doors with all applicable requirements of this Standard.

O132.2.4 - Hardware Locations for Wood Flush Doors
Scope
1.1
This Standard establishes hardware locations for the following solid and hollow core wood flush doors: 1-3/8 in(34.9 mm) and 1-3/4 in (44.4 mm) thick x 6 ft 8 in (2032 mm) and 7 ft 0 in(2134 mm) high.
1.2
This Standard provides quality, dimension, and terminology criteria for hardware locations on wood flush doors. Requirements are given for measurement, handing, hinge, and lock location. A glossary of trade terms and definitions is provided. Because of the constant technological changes and product improvements in component parts used by door manufacturers, industry standards referenced in this document may become outdated.
