Preface
This is the first edition of CSA Preliminary Standard N287. 4, Construction, Fabrication and Installation Requirements for Concrete Containment Structures for CANDU Nuclear Power Plants. Development of this Standard
began in 1973 under the sponsorship of the Canadian Nuclear Association's Codes, Standards, and Practices Committee. In 1974, the decision was made to promulgate this document as a CSA Standard.
Scope
1.1
This Standard covers the construction, fabrication, and installation requirements to be used for the building of concrete containment structures of a containment system, designated as Class Containment components and parts.
1.2
Included as an essential part of this Standard are the qualification requirements for the persons involved with the work of this Standard.
1.3
This Standard makes frequent reference to CSA Standard N287.2, Material Requirements for Concrete Containment Structures for CAN-DU Nuclear Power Plants, which is, hereinafter referred to as CSA Standard N287.2.
