CSA Preface
This is the first edition of CAN/CSA-ISO 17827-2, Solid biofuels — Determination of particle size distribution for uncompressed fuels — Part 2: Vibrating screen method using sieves with aperture of 3,15 mm and below, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 17827-2 (first edition, 2016-05-15).
For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as CAN/CSA-ISO 17827-2 throughout.
This Standard is one of two Standards developed by ISO/TC 238 on Solid Biofuels that are being adopted by CSA Group under the series Determination of particle size distribution for uncompressed fuels, which consists of the following:
a) ISO 17827-1, Part 1: Oscillating screen method using sieves with apertures of 3,15 mm and above; and
b) ISO 17827-2, Part 2: Vibrating screen method using sieves with aperture of 3,15 mm and below.
This Standard specifies a method for the determination of the size distribution of particulate biofuels by the vibrating screen method. The method described is meant for particulate biofuels only, namely, materials that either have been reduced in size, such as most wood fuels, or are physically in a particulate form. This part of CAN/CSA-ISO 17827 applies to particulate uncompressed fuels with a nominal top size of 3,15 mm and below (e.g., sawdust).
This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on Solid Biofuels, under the jurisdiction of the CSA Strategic Steering Committee on Fuel Burning Equipment, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee.
This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.
