This is the third edition of CSA Standard 294.3 (now CAN/CSA-Z94.3), Industrial Eye and Face Protectors. It supersedes the previous edition published in 1982.
This Standard applies to eye and face protectors used in all occupational and educational operations or processes involving hazards to the eyes or face. Typical hazards include flying objectsand particles, splashing liquids, molten metal, and ultraviolet, visible, and infrared radiations, but do not include X-rays, gamma rays, high-energy particulate radiations, radioactive materials, lasers, or masers.
Note: It is recommended that the guidelines for protection ouflined in Appendix C be foliowed when similar potentially hazardous activities in the home, leisure, and recreational environments are engaged in.
