Preface
This is the first edition of the annibus CSA Standard O15, Wood Utility Poles and Reinforcing Stubs. The Standard is written in SI (metric) units, and has been developed from the following existing CSA Standards (written in Imperial units):
015.1-1950 (R1971), The Physical Properties and Preservative Treatment of Eastern White Cedar Poles;
015.2-1969, The Physical Properties of Western Red Cedar Poles and Reinforcing Stubs;
015.3-1960, The Physical Properties of Jack, Lodgepole, and Red Pine Poles, and Reinforcing Stubs;
015.1-1975, The Physical Properties of Douglas Fir and Western Larch Poles and Reinforcing Stubs.
Scope
1.1 This Standard covers material, manufacturing, and class dimensional requirements for seasoned wood poles and reinforcing stubs that are primarily intended for the support of either electrical power or communication lines.
