Definitions, General Requirements, and Methods of Testing for Thermoplastic Pressure Piping
Product Details
Preface
This is the third edition of CSA Standard 8137.0 (now CAN3-B137.0), Definitions, General Requirements, and Methods of Testing for Thermoplastic Pressure Piping. It supersedes the previous edition published in 1981. This Standard contains requirements and test methods that are common to some, or all, of the Standards in CSA B137 Series on plastic pressure pipe. Wherever possible, the individual Standard (eg. B137.3), rather than repeat such information, simply refers to the relevant Clause in B137.0.
The major changes incorporated in this third edition are as follows:
(a) incorporation ofthe nominal pipe size (NPS) designator;
(b) a revision of the pass/fail criteria of Clause 7.7.3.2 to the original criteria in the 1973 edition; and
(c) editorial changes to Clause 5.2.1 and Table 1 (Environmental Requirements).
This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Plastic Pipe and the Subcommittee on Pressure Pipe, under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Plumbing Products and Materials, and was formally approved by these Committees. It has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
