Preface
This is the second edition of CSA Standard B137.0, Definitions, General Requirements, and Methods of Testing for Thermoplastic Pressure Piping, and it supersedes the first edition published in 1973. In addition to listing abbreviations and definitions in common use, this Standard contains requirements and test methods which are common to some or all of the CSA Standards on Plastic Piping. Wherever possible, the plastic piping standards simply refer to the relevant requirement or test method in CSA Standard B137.0 rather than repeat such information in each individual Standard.
Scope
1.1 This Standard covers thermoplastic pressure piping and includes abbreviations, definitions, and classifications, general requirements for raw materials, pipe and fitting general requirements, and the relevant test methods.
Note: Pipe, piping, tube, and tubing are often used interchangeably.
1.2 This Standard must be used in conjunction with one of the other Standards in the 8137 Series to form a complete Standard for a particular product.
