Scope
1.1 This Standard applies to factory-made unitary heat pumps, single-package, or matched assemblies of the type classified in Clause 1.4 intended for application in residential, commercial, and industrial heating and cooling systems.
1.2 This Standard applies only to electrically driven, mechanical, vapour-compression systems charged with one of the refrigerants listed in Group 1 of CSA Standard B52.
1.3 This Standard covers equipment rated below 40.0 kW (135,000 Btu/h) cooling capacity at standard rating conditions as listed in Clause 7.2.
1.4 Unitary water source heat pumps within the scope of this Standardare classified as factory-assembled single-package or sp lit system(s) with
1.5 This Standard does not apply to unitary water source heat pumps intended for ground, well, or surface water source application. CSA Standard CAN/CSA-C446 covers heat pumps designed for such applications.
1.6 The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
