      Scope


      1.1

      This Standard covers vitrified clay pipe and fittings intended for the conveyance of sewage, commercial and industrial wastes, chemical liquids and vapours, and storm water.


      1.2

      This Standard includes requirements for material, dimensions of pipe, strength of pipe, fittings, marking, and inspection.


      1.3

      Pipe and fittings covered by this Standard are classified as follows:


      (a) Bell and Spigot Type - Standard strength, or extra strength (unglazed or ceramic glazed bore); and


      (b) Plane End Type - Standard strength, or extra strength (unglazed or ceramic glazed bore).


      1.4

      Where reference is made to other publications, such reference shall be considered to refer to the latest edition or any revisions thereto approved by the organization issuing that publication.
